If you are a VA veteran buying a multifamily property, and if you do not have 12 monthsproperty management experience, you cannot use the rental income to help you qualify for a Boston mortgage loan. However, if your income is not qualified for the loan, and you need the rental income to help you qualify, one possibility is to hire a Property Management Company to manage your property for 12 months. You can even ask your real estate agent to hire a management company for you, or you can ask us for a referral. Then the rental income may help you qualify for a Boston loan for a condo building or other multi-family property. Keep in mind, though, that this method is an exemption and not a general rule.
